Dr Joyline Gozho

UKCP, FPC, NCS
Psychotherapist
I have been practising as a psychotherapist, working in inner London for more than a decade. Prior to that, I worked in the helping profession, both in NHS and privately, in various specialist roles.
My training to becoming a psychotherapist was stimulated by my fundamental belief in the therapeutic effects of talking therapies, which occurs through talking, and the experience of deeply connecting on a human level. I have had the privilege of helping people who are experiencing a broad range of difficulties, both acute and longstanding. My belief in the therapeutic effects of psychotherapy has been reinforced by seeing many people I have worked with leave therapy feeling more wholesome, and starting to live their lives more meaningfully.
My core training is psychodynamic, holding a Doctorate in Psychodynamic Clinical Practice- I also hold a post graduate qualification in CBT. This is enriching to my practice as it means that I can tailor my clients' work to suit their needs, using these two different approaches. I also work with couples and I am accredited as a Relationship Therapist.
Practicing in a busy, diverse, and pluralistic city of London, I offer a "City Sanctuary" which is a safe and confidential space where one can escape to, reflect, unwind, share innermost worries and anxieties without judgement, and go through the process of inner healing.
Apart from practicing as a psychotherapist, I am a Lecturer at Birkbeck University of London, teaching on the Msc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course.
